How was your Valentine’s Day? Ryan and I celebrated the same way we do every year: with cheesy gifts and a cheesy pizza. I was totally spoiled though because he even brought me flowers to work.
Like any important day, we had to celebrate with coffee, but I got a kick out of the fact that one of the employees at our local Dunkin knows our orders so well. She doesn’t even have to be the one serving us; when she gets the order, she knows who it’s for. It’s pretty cool!
I also made a special holiday appearance on WKTV News Channel 2 and brought one of my most popular Valentine’s Day recipes: Strawberry Sweetheart Bars. You can watch my spot here.
Of course, we can’t forget my furry Valentines: Mr. Poe and Mina. I have officially taken my favorite selfie ever with Mr. Poe. For as aloof as cats are painted to be, my Poe is so loyal. He looks like he actually loves me in this picture!
Mina on the other hand is as aloof as they say, but she is beautiful and loves to snuggle up in towels.
Besides just celebrating for the holidays, Ryan and I make it a point to have time together just because, like our weekend breakfasts. Last Saturday, we wandered over to Castlewood Cafe because it’s in the same plaza as my gym. Yes, I follow up teaching with a hearty breakfast…so sue me. Anyway, while we were eating, the man who had been sitting at the table next to us the whole time stood up to leave and said, “It’s nice to see a young couple who can talk to each other. Most people just stare at their phones.” I like to think I’m pretty lucky….Oh, and the food wasn’t half-bad either!
